Terms of Use

Specifeed Terms of Use

Effective date: 21 July 2026 · Region: UK & Europe (specifeed.co.uk)

These terms are written for the current comparison-service model. They should be reviewed before Specifeed directly sells goods, adds paid subscriptions, or materially changes its affiliate and advertising model.

1. About these terms

These Terms of Use apply when you access or use Specifeed, including search, comparison, account, pet profile, favourites, alert, contact, and retailer-link features.

By using the website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the website.

For general enquiries, contact hello@specifeed.co.uk. For data, privacy, and supplier data requests, contact data@specifeed.co.uk. For partnership requests, contact partners@specifeed.co.uk.

2. What the service does

Specifeed helps users discover and compare specialist pet food products, including veterinary, prescription, hydrolysed, hypoallergenic, renal, urinary, gastrointestinal, limited ingredient, and other diet-focused products.

Product pages may include retailer links, prices, stock status, ingredients, analytical constituents, diet categories, pack sizes, images, prescription notes, and availability signals where available.

Specifeed is a search and comparison service. Unless a page clearly says otherwise, purchases are completed with third-party retailers, not with Specifeed.

3. Not veterinary advice

Specifeed does not diagnose, treat, prescribe, or replace advice from a qualified veterinary professional. Always speak to a vet before changing food for a pet with medical needs. Seek urgent veterinary care if your pet is acutely unwell.

If your pet is acutely unwell, distressed, unable to urinate, repeatedly vomiting, struggling to breathe, refusing food, or deteriorating quickly, seek urgent veterinary care rather than relying on website information.

4. Product data and availability

We work to keep data useful and current, but retailer data can change quickly. Prices, stock, delivery, pack sizes, images, ingredients, allergens, analytical constituents, prescription requirements, and product names may be incomplete, delayed, or wrong.

Always check the retailer page, product packaging, and any prescription or feeding guidance before purchase and feeding.

If you spot an error, report it through the Contact page or email data@specifeed.co.uk so it can be reviewed.

5. Editorial guides and brand information

Brand pages and specialist guides combine information published by brands, retailers, veterinary organisations, standards bodies, and our own editorial explanation. Sources are linked where practical so you can inspect the original material.

Educational content is general information. It is not a diagnosis, prescription, feeding plan, nutritional formulation, or substitute for a qualified veterinary professional. Claims, recipes, labels and guidance can change; check the current source and packaging.

Words such as natural, premium, novel protein, prey model, hypoallergenic and veterinary describe different ideas and are not interchangeable guarantees of suitability.

6. Data quality, corrections, and manual records

The catalogue is refreshed from tracked product and retailer pages. Automated matching, classification, price, stock, image and variant processing can make mistakes, so we provide correction and review routes rather than promising that every record is perfect.

Administrators may place a catalogue record into manual mode. Manual records are intentionally protected from automated refreshes until they are returned to automation; this is an internal data-quality control and does not make the record a veterinary recommendation.

When you submit a correction, account detail, pet profile, favourite or alert, you must provide information that is accurate and that you are allowed to share.

7. Retailers, affiliates, and ads

Retailer and brand links may take you to third-party websites. Their terms, privacy notices, checkout, delivery, returns, prescription checks, customer service, and product fulfilment are their responsibility.

Some retailer and brand links may be affiliate or sponsored links. Specifeed may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Always confirm price, stock, ingredients, and any prescription requirements with the retailer before buying.

Advertising or sponsored placements must be identifiable as advertising where required by UK advertising rules (ASA/CAP).

8. Accounts, pets, favourites, and alerts

You are responsible for keeping your sign-in method secure and for making sure pet profile information you add is accurate and lawful to store.

Alerts, favourites, comparisons, and saved product matches are convenience features. They are not urgent safety systems and should not be relied on for medical or time-critical dietary decisions.

We may suspend or remove accounts, profiles, alerts, or content that appears abusive, unlawful, unsafe, misleading, automated at harmful scale, or damaging to the service.

9. Acceptable use

Do not misuse the website, attack it, overload it, attempt to bypass security, scrape it excessively, reverse engineer non-public systems, submit malicious content, impersonate others, or use it in a way that harms users, animals, retailers, partners, or the platform.

Do not submit personal data about another person unless you have permission or another lawful basis.

Do not use the site to make unlawful, misleading, defamatory, harmful, or unauthorised commercial claims.

10. Intellectual property

The Specifeed name, original writing, software, layout, organisation, and platform design belong to the site operator or licensors.

Retailer names, brand names, logos, and product images belong to their respective owners and are used for identification, comparison, factual reference, or compatibility with retailer data.

You may link to public pages, but you must not copy substantial parts of the site, reproduce data at scale, or present Specifeed content as your own without permission.

11. Availability and changes

The website is provided on an as-available basis. Features may change, pause, or be withdrawn as the service develops, suppliers change, or security and data quality needs require.

We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date and, where appropriate, by giving additional notice.

12. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation.

Subject to applicable law, Specifeed is not responsible for losses caused by third-party retailer actions, changed prices, unavailable products, inaccurate third-party data, missed alerts, decisions made without veterinary advice, or misuse of the website.

If you use the website for business purposes, Specifeed is not liable for business interruption, loss of profit, loss of revenue, loss of data, or indirect or consequential losses.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the UK, you may also have mandatory local consumer rights that cannot be removed by these terms.
